What's A Girl To Do?

What's a girl to do on a rainy, dreary Sunday?
Well, of course, lay in bed til 11, dozing and watching Netflix.
Go grocery shopping and meander through the aisles. Then come home, and make a week and half's worth of breakast burritos, baked cheesy asparagus, and sautéed green beans.
Then do the dishes so she feels even more accomplished....

Lastly, kick her feet up to cheer on her hockey team in the NHL playoffs while enjoying the (not so quiet) pitter-patter of raindrops.

I hope you've had an amazingly relaxing weeked like I have. Even though it included staying up til 3 AM both nights, but that's a story for a different time :)

I hope....

  • posting 2 completely different blogs tonight makes up for my almost 2 month hiatus
  • to never be so unhappy with my life (again) that I put a damper on others
  • that I never give unsolicited advice.  Sometimes people just need to talk without you telling them your thoughts, opinions, or "what you'd do".
  • that my meeting on Monday doesn't take forever so I can go home and grade.
  • that someday people realize how sensitive I truly am, although I'd deny it to my grave.
  • I never lose my sense of adventure and desire to have fun
  • that things work out the way (I think) I want them to, JUST to prove practically everyone wrong.
  • that I never miss social cues. It's just uncomfortable.
  • that I never make anyone feel like they're wasting their time when they are talking to me.  No matter what the connotation of the interaction is.
  • that I have one of the best summers of my life.  It's looking to be that way, and has the potential to get even better.

I Broke Up With a Guy Who I Knew Cared About Me

Yes, what you just read is entirely true.

I ended things with a guy who I KNEW cared about me. Even as I said the words, I KNEW you cared about me.  As I drove away from his house, I KNEW he cared about me.  And for the past almost 2 weeks, I know he still cares about me.

I felt so foolish for ending things with a guy who cares about me when there are SO many people in this world who are looking for just that.  Someone to care about them.  Unfortunately, the way that Calypso had been trying to show me that he cared just wasn't what I was needing. So before it got to the point where we were both frustrated and miserable, I chose to end things in the hope of salvaging a friendship at some point.  Calypso is genuinely a fun person to spend time with and I've never dated anyone who challenged me as intellectually as he did.  So I guess just keep your fingers crossed that it happens!

I've written and re-written this post in my head so many times, trying to put so eloquently what was going through my head the past (almost) 2 months that I've been MIA from here.  But I think that's next to impossible so I guess this is what you get.
